PARISH COUNCIL

The Parish Council's activities fall into three main categories: representing the local community, delivering services to meet local needs, and improving quality of life and community well being. The Council consists of 7 elected members plus the Parish Clerk and is a non political body. The Parish Clerk is a paid official responsible for meeting agendas, minutes and other correspondence as well as being responsible for the accounts as the financial officer. The Council members are all volunteers

Parish Council Duties

The duties of the Parish Council are wide and varied and typically include:   Reviewing planning applications and     approving, rejecting or commenting from     a village view point   Setting and managing the village Precept   (Budget)     Listening to Parishioner's concerns,   questions, needs etc.   Ensuring the village is kept in good order   Communicating with other councils and   organisations   Having a collective voice in various arenas   including Borough and County   Councils,Development Councils and Police
